I’ll take a smaller house. Easier to clean.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 08:54 |

I’ll skip the house and driveway and go straight to this -

Eh, the fountain screams “tacky new-money” to me. The house is maybe a bit better, but the door and entry window should really have divided lights to match the other glass.

Nah.

If that were my place, I could not help myself from tokyo drifting around that fountain every day when I returned from work. You can keep the Merc.

If you can buy that house, you probably can afford $100/week or whatever to have someone clean it for you.

I’ve got to say I’d go a little less Spanish Colonial Revival, a little more Brick Gothic or maybe even proper Art Deco.

The correct answer is

Was a a beach club a couple weeks ago in Long Island. They had palm trees.

I do not have a house or a driveway like that. I am a failure.

I don’t really like the fountain.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 09:23 |

We should buy that place and change it to a Dickbutt fountain.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 09:25 |

I don’t really want that either though.

TORCHINSKY FOUNTAIN

I think we should just replace it with a hot tub.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 09:29 |

Hot tub in front of the house?
Hot tubs require privacy. It shall go inside, next to the indoor pool.

That works too.

Almost. I’m taking a whole $20 to Half Price Books today, so I roll pretty high.

It’s neat, but not enough garage space...

as a youngen, playing with my matchbox cars, I always pulled out our set of encyclopedias (which is a very old thing to say) and setup just such a house. It made a lot of sense for my secret agent spy persona, and would explain why he had a collection of 20+ cars. a circle driveway was a must

I’m more into the English country house myself, with a pack of family dogs and a Phantom out front parked next to a ratty old Defender (race car collection is stored in various barns and outbuildings, duh!) but yeah, I’m pickin up what you’re puttin down. =)

Ehhh, I’ll go with something more subdued
Just picture it: starting every morning to the sound of your self-playing pipe organ echoing from elegant latticework on the ceiling of the foyer, taking a refreshing dip in a kiddy pool overlooking the Hudson, maybe you’ll call to see if Cookie’s open next Tuesday at 11AM. You down some vodka and gummi bears in the back of your Jag just before you show up to your, uh, “board meeting” that’s totally not an intervention. After some misunderstandings and exchanging of insults that most certainly won’t make Thanksgiving any more awkward at all, head home to fall asleep on a fin-de-siécle (an authentic Ethan Allen, ca. 1998) recliner while watching X-Files reruns. All while being supported by an army of unnoticed servants and lawyers who work VERY hard to stay unseen, lest we have another....incident.
Truly, the épitome of old-money elegance.

Seriously. If I didn’t have to pay property taxes on my car, I’d be so much better off right now.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 11:21 |

I’ll rather have maximum number of garages than luxurious house. Like these.
![]() 07/31/2015 at 13:27 |

Not everyone wants someone to clean their mansion. I’d be happier with a nice house that I cleaned myself.

That fountain is taking up precious driveway space that could be used to store more project cars!
![]() 08/01/2015 at 18:10 |

That’s a lot of house that could have been spent on car.
